Having playtested the game ourselves, we can confidently say that the Deadlock PC requirements aren’t very high, as it runs just about as well on a dedicated gaming rig as it does on a mid-range laptop.
With no official requirements having been announced by Valve, we’ve put together our own minimum and recommended specs to ensure anyone hoping to playtest the game has a good experience.
Deadlock minimum requirements
On the lowest settings, we’ve found Deadlock runs great on our estimated Deadlock minimum requirements:
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400
- RAM: 8GB
The game does run on weaker hardware, but you’ll want to aim for the above or higher if you want to avoid massive FPS drops, screen-tearing, or lag (which is particularly crucial given the multiplayer aspect).
Deadlock recommended specs
With every setting set to its highest level, we were able to achieve a more than consistent 60FPS on a 2560 x 1600 monitor using the following Deadlock recommended specs:
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700E
- RAM: 16GB
It’s worth quickly pointing out that the above is overkill, and that the game will run smoothly on slightly weaker systems on the higher settings. However, as we are only able to test the playtest version of the game, there is a chance that the official requirements will end up being higher come the Deadlock release date.
As a result, we have erred on the side of caution and recommended a higher level of hardware just to ensure you can play the game at its best.
Deadlock size
The initial Deadlock download size takes about 10GB of HD space, but does expand to 22.5GB of space upon installation.
It is likely that the game will require more than 22.5GB by the time the game is released, but it probably won’t balloon to anything greater than 40GB.
We recommend installing the game onto an SSD rather than a HDD to benefit from faster load times, but your internet connection will ultimately determine how fast and how stable your overall gameplay experience will be.
