How to get a Deadlock invite code

If you’re keen to jump into Deadlock right now, you’re going to need a Deadlock invite, which is easy to get if you follow these instructions.

How to get a Deadlock invite code

While the Deadlock release date remains in the far future, you don’t need to wait around to play Deadlock right now. In fact, all you need is a Deadlock invite code to access the playtest. Here’s how you get an invitation to the playtest.

Free Deadlock invite

First, all invites to the playtest are free, and there are no requirements to pay in order to join.

In order to get an invitation, you have two options:

  • Get an invitation directly from Valve (random chance)
  • Get an invitation from a friend on Steam

If you’re not lucky enough to have received an invite directly or have any immediate friends with access to the game, don’t fret!

Simply head on over to the Deadlock Discord server or to the Deadlock Reddit megathread and you will find an exceptionally long list of people offering free invites to the game.

Select any of them, send them a friend request via your Steam profile, await your invitation (which can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours), and then unfriend the person who invited you.

Once you have access to Deadlock, you’ll be able to invite anyone on your friends list to the game as well!

How long does it take to get a Deadlock invite?

From our personal experience, most invites take between three and four hours to arrive, but several players have reported invites taking as long as 24 hours to arrive.

If you’re really lucky, your invitation will arrive within a few minutes of your being added to the Deadlock playtest.
